This FAQ is available by FTP, courtesy of Andy Eddy. Just FTP
to ftp.netcom.com and cd /pub/vi/vidgames/faqs. Don't forget to read
the INDEX.README file. This FAQ should be listed as lupin3.txt.

It should also be available at my web site.

Here is a small FAQ about the Super Famicom game Lupin III.
I'm not sure if that is the exact title or not, but it will have to
do until I find out otherwise. If anyone has this game and can
read Japanese, I would be grateful for a translation of the
menus as well as a rough translation of the story.

The game is actually quite easy, so I wouldn't recommend
spending too much for it. It only took me an afternoon to beat
it, but it was still fun.

The game is based on the Lupin anime series, several of
which have been translated into English. If you're interested,
I would recommend renting "The Castle of Cagliostro." It's
my personal favorite.

CONTROLS
-------------------------------------------------------------------

The controls appear to be changable from the options menu.

Press B to jump
Hold Y to run/swim fast.
Press A to punch/kick.
Press X to activate item.
Press L or R to select item.
Press UP to enter an open door.

On some levels you need to use your rope to climb up into
the air ducts. Jump up as high as you can before shooting your rope
in order to get it to stick to the ceiling of the air shaft. There
are also cross-shafts that you need to crawl through. When you come
to one, just push up to crawl through them.

Sometimes you need to shoot computer terminals to open doors.

LEVEL HINTS
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Level 1:
	Watch out for falling blocks.
	Watch out for trapdoors.
Use a crouching kick to destroy the small robots on the ground.

Level 2:
Watch out for flames shooting out of the ground.
Use your spring boots to jump over the spikes.

Level 3:
Shoot robots in the head when they open their visors.

Level 4:
	Watch out for trapdoors.
There are two computer terminals to shoot on this level.

Level 5:
	Watch out for trapdoors.

Level 6:
Shoot the small square on the wall next to the robot with the
	long arms to disable him.
	Watch out for trapdoors.
There are two computer terminals to shoot on this level.

Level 7:
	Watch out for trapdoors.

Level 8:
There is a boss at the end of this level, so collect as
many power-ups as you can. You'll talk to Fujiko right
before you have to fight the boss and your energy will be
replenished. The boss is tough, so be careful. I finally
beat him by crouching in the right hand corner and continuisly
kicking him. He would slide kick me, but I just kept at it and
replenished my energy when I needed to. I had about four energy
replenishers when I went into battle and ended up with only one
tic left on my energy bar when I finally beat him. Good Luck.

Level 9:
	Watch out for trap doors.
	Watch out for dropping boulders.
A few sticks of dynamite to the legs will destroy the green
	robot on this level.

Level 10:
Run as fast as you can as the bridge collapses behind you.
	Watch out for trapdoors.
Watch out for flames shooting out of the ground.
The exit is down below in the water.

Level 11:
Hold down the Y button in order to swim faster.
When you start flashing, you are running out of air. Get
to the surface before you drown.
	Watch out for mines.

Level 12:
Use the springshoes to get over obstacles.
Watch out for the suits of armor, they like to explode.
Watch out for falling bricks and dripping acid.

Level 13:
Watch out for dripping acid and flames shooting out of the floor.
Keep an eye out for dropping boulders.

Level 14:
Watch out for stone pillars that rise out of the floor or
	ceiling to crush you.
More exploding suits of armor lay scattered about this level.
Keep an eye out for falling blocks.
Use dynamite to blast through walls blocking passageways.
Don't let the wind machines push you underneath the
	crushing pillars.
There is a boss on this level, so stock up on power-ups.
You'll be fighting the same android as before, so his
attacks will be similar. My advice is to stock up on
energy replenishers and crouch in the left hand corner
doing low kicks. Replenish your energy whenever you get
down to two or three ticks and hopefully you'll be able to
	defeat him. Good Luck.
